Over the years the DWICA has been involved in a number of community projects which promote the needs and concerns of those we serve.
Over the years the DWICA has been at the forefront of many community campaigning issues. Throughout our over 60 year history, we have launched a number of projects to help the community, from health to education. We have also offered guidance and support for a number of people, especially during major crisis' in our community like the Windrush scandal.
In 2018, the Association was given funding from the Department for Culture Media and Sport and Big Lottery to set up our Stronger Together project, which has allowed us to significantly widen our activities and scope. More recently, we have begun finding new ways to serve our community and have launched the Covid Kitchen a twice-weekly hot meal delivery to elderly and vulnerable members of our community during the COVID 19 pandemic. Community is at the heart of our message and we strive to make ours more harmonious with our work.
